Woodland Family Photography Newbury
Since finding Snelsmore Common in Newbury, woodland family photography has slowly become my thing. I love it here and I’m yet to discover half of what this beautiful location has to offer. I’m still very much sticking to the routes I know as I’m addicted to the way the purple heather glows during sunset and I need every family walking amongst it if they choose to have their family photography here.
When Charlie contacted me about photographing his beautiful family, I just knew this would be the best location to take them. And boy was I right. Working with slightly older children can go either way. Sometimes it’s easier but sometimes they take a little longer to relax and can feel extra self conscious in front of the camera. But it’s ok, there is always time to get every one on board and after 20 minutes or so I find children relax into themselves and start to enjoy the session.
If you know anything about the way I work you will be aware that I love to make the most of my locations and always include shots where families are lost within their surroundings. I like to get all the textures in so having interesting backgrounds is important for me. If we go to the beach together, I’ll always try to include a mixture of open sand and water, but also head for the grasses in the sand dunes, or better yet find a woodland area that opens onto the sand. Dreamy.
I have done so much family photography in Newbury so keep your eyes peeled as I’ll be getting them up here on the blog very soon!
